About France Pétanque

France Pétanque, stays dedicated to Japanese players

France Pétanque is a brand dedicated to organising stays in France for Japanese pétanque players.

The objective is to enable real progress through a balanced combination of:
structured training sessions, participation in real French competitions, and immersion in local culture.

The stays are designed to offer an authentic and well-balanced experience, combining sporting practice, cultural discoveries and moments of exchange.

France Pétanque is intended for Japanese players who wish to improve by confronting different styles of play and different approaches to pétanque.

An approach built between France and Japan

France Pétanque was born from a unique personal journey, at the crossroads of two worlds:
French pétanque and Japan.

For more than twenty years, I have been supporting Japanese players in their discovery of pétanque in France, through the organisation of competitions, training stays, international events and cultural exchanges.

This experience has been built progressively, on the field, in direct contact with clubs, players and federations, following a logic of trust, mutual respect and transmission.

A story of passions, connections and transmission

Pétanque has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.
My parents were already playing before I was born, and I started myself at the age of ten. At that time, young girls were rare on the courts, but I was fortunate to grow up in a supportive environment that helped me develop both my game and my mindset.

Without formal training structures, progress came through observation, exchange and confrontation with others. I discovered pétanque as a complete sport, combining technical skill, reflection, strategy, conviviality and competition.
Very early on, I also became involved in club life, helping with the organisation of tournaments and associative activities. This first passion was deeply linked to values of sharing and transmission.

My second passion came from another horizon: Japan.
Growing up in the 1980s, I was exposed to Japanese animated series on French television, and later to manga, which sparked a lasting curiosity for the country and its culture.

In 2001, I had the opportunity to travel to Japan for the first time.
This trip was a real turning point. I especially remember a moment in Nara: lost in the rain, without a phone or GPS, we were spontaneously helped by an elderly person who sheltered us, guided us, introduced us to other travellers, and even offered us an umbrella. In this simple gesture, I found values that deeply resonated with me: respect, mutual help and solidarity. This journey, and many other moments afterwards, profoundly touched my heart and shaped my connection with Japan and its people.

Back in France, one thing became obvious: bringing my two passions together.
Already involved in organising pétanque competitions, I contacted the Japanese Pétanque Federation to invite Japanese teams to take part in an international tournament in Nice. This first encounter marked the beginning of a lasting exchange, based on trust and mutual respect.

To communicate more effectively, I naturally learned Japanese. Then projects followed for more than twenty years: supporting delegations, organising stays, international competitions and cultural immersion.
Each experience formed part of a continuous path, driven by the desire to create sincere human and cultural bridges.

Today, my journey reflects this story:
A path built with patience, at the intersection of pétanque, Japan and human relationships, guided by respect, loyalty and the pleasure of sharing and transmitting.
